What’s SKELLIT all about?
The SKELLIT system is based on our universal docking technology for all industrial and military tablets. Don't think of only pricey hw, as they aren't, just check out our supported devices. These professional pieces all have additional gold pogo pin contacts by default, not just a fragile USB-C plug as any consumer grade piece.
That is the only way to dock quickly and securely in the field again and again without damaging the contacts. SKELLIT is a light tablet and smartphone integration, because from the very beginning the primary goal was a wearable system.
We make docking solutions for both PC and Android tablets, and we also have wearable industrial smartphones. Because fast docking offers so many possibilities, SKELLIT now has wearable, handheld, desktop, console mount and even bike handlebar mount versions, all using the very same core tech.
The electronic heart and soul of SKELLIT is in the base as a miniature PCB, which also holds the gold contacts. This board connects all universal peripherals and the charger to the tablet with locking IP67 connectors next to the hinges. Similar gold contacts connect the removable RF box to the handheld unit, or to any remote mount adapter.
Following the same integration route as the chest mount version, the handheld module has all connections between the two handles, the tablet and the RF box embedded in the CF backplate as two PCB inlays, one carrying power and comms, the other the direct control signals. This makes this unit also light and still perfectly modular, while keeping it simple and field serviceable.
SKELLIT has industrial standard signalling and communications all over. Long range transparent IP datalink is the primary connection to your drone, so you don’t need separate RF links for telemetry, video and direct control as in most legacy systems. LAN and USB are all wired connections, so there’s no need to interfere with your vehicle link by using WLAN, BT, or in fact any other local RF source.
SKELLIT Protean is the full UAV-USV controller package for any given industrial tablet, which may include any combination, or in fact all of these modules:
SKELLIT HH - the handheld controller unit with 2-4 joysticks, 2 toggles and 6-8 pushbuttons
SKELLIT RF - snaps right onto the back of the HH or on the tripod adapter, with a long range digital IP datalink RF module inside, i.e. Microhard, Silvus, Doodle Labs, etc.
SKELLIT RF tripod adapter - you can mount it on top of a mast and powerful magnets can hold it onto your car roof
SKELLIT body radio - shoulder mount adapter for the RF box
SKELLIT full MOLLE - wearable mount for plate carriers, dungarees, backpacks, etc.*
SKELLIT half MOLLE - wearable mount for zip front vests and life vests*
SKELLIT Bike - handlebar and tube frame mount
* Both the full and the half MOLLE wearable mounts can be turned over at their hinges to serve as a firm desktop stand.
Switching between any of the above docking frames is just a snap, because the flexible CF element is tough enough to hold the tablet in place, even against high impact forces. Still, you only need to snap with your thumb and index finger to remove the tablet from any of them. Check out the video:
